Instructor Profiles: Larry Farquhar

After graduating with honors from the Manitoba Institute of Technology, Larry started his career with Finning Tractor in Vancouver, BC July 15, 1969. Throughout the ensuing years he has accumulated extensive experience and education in industrial safety:

• A professional certification in materials handling and materials management (PCMH PCMM) continuously since 1984 by MHMS (Materials Handling & Management Society). Qualifications are evaluated every 3 years by the society’s head office in Charlotte, North Carolina.
  
• Accredited and licensed internationally as an instructor for scissor lifts and aerial work platforms by IPAF ( International Powered Access Federation) and in North America by AWPT ( Aerial work platform Training) License number AI/0005109 www.ipaf.org
• JLG Certified Training instructor (ID#38567) for: Telehandlers; scissor lifts; aerial work platforms including Ultra Booms.
  
• He is also accredited by Miller Fall Protection as a trainer for fall prevention and protection, high angle rescue and fall prevention equipment inspection.
  
• Larry is a registered tractor instructor with HOSTA – “Hazardous Occupations Safety Training in Agriculture” - safe tractor and machinery operation program.
  
• Larry’s accomplishments include writing training manuals for students preparing to write exams for professional certifications in both materials handling and materials management.
  

Throughout the past 40 years Larry has taken extensive training in Canada, the US, UK and Europe on equipment demonstration and operator training for rough terrain telescopic and large lift trucks including container handlers, clamp truck pulp and paper handing, aerial work platforms and scissor lifts, skid steers, compact (mini) excavators, cranes, boom trucks ,tractors and ladder safety.
