Scissor Lift and/ or Aerial Work Platform
Courses follow the IPAF and AWPT requirements for safe operation of aerial work platforms and or scissor lifts. The course consists of classroom along with practical. The classroom portion includes manuals, PowerPoint, videos and demonstrations. The material includes safety, CSA ANSI and OSHA along with applicable provincial regulations, machine pre use inspection, work place inspection, proper use of fall arrest and/or restraint equipment, weather conditions. The practical covers proper pre use inspection of the machine(s), work place inspection, emergency decent, correct attachment of fall prevention equipment, machine operation.

 

 

Skid Steer
Course consists of both Classroom and practical components. Classroom covers basic principles of how a skid steer works, general safety, proper entry and exit of the machine, attachment use including how to change attachments. The classroom portion includes workbooks, PowerPoint, videos, a review of applicable CSA and provincial regulations. The practical component will be tailored to the client’s needs.

Compact (Mini) Excavators
Course consists of both Classroom and practical components. Classroom covers basic principles of how a skid steer works, general safety, proper entry and exit of the machine, attachment use including how to change attachments. The classroom portion includes workbooks, PowerPoint, videos, a review of applicable CSA and provincial regulations. The practical component will be tailored to the client’s needs.

Telescopic Fork Lifts
Course consists of both Classroom and practical components. Classroom covers basic principles of how a Telescopic works, Load charts and how to read them, general safety, proper entry and exit of the machine, attachment use including how to change attachments. The classroom portion includes workbooks, PowerPoint, videos, a review of applicable CSA and provincial regulations. The practical component includes machine pre-use check, work area check, proper use of seat belt, hazards to watch for and seat time in the machine

Compact pick and Carry Cranes
Course consists of both Classroom and practical components. Classroom covers basic principles of how a crane works, general safety, Load charts and how to read them (including a written exercise with the trainees figuring out crane capacities in various situations. The classroom portion includes workbooks, PowerPoint, videos, a review of applicable CSA and provincial regulations. The practical component will be tailored to the client’s needs.

Fall Prevention
This course is approximately 5 hours in length. It is classroom based and includes PowerPoint, videos, and practical demonstrations along with work books.
The course includes: Review of current applicable legislation and or company fall protection program Recognition, Evaluation and Control Measures for Fall Hazards Defining – Fall Protection, Positioning, basics of fall prevention, ladder safety, Selection of the correct equipment for the application, how to calculate fall distances, swing falls, anchor points, full body harness, connecting devices, fall forces and how to minimize them. Proper donning and doffing of harnesses along with fall prevention equipment pre-use inspection. There is a written test at the end with a pass mark of 80% (this test can also be done orally)

Tractors and/ or compact wheel loaders
Course consists of both Classroom and practical components. Classroom covers basic principles of how a skid steer works, general safety, proper entry and exit of the machine, proper seat belt use and ROPS, attachment use including how to change attachments. The classroom portion includes workbooks, PowerPoint, videos, a review of applicable CSA and provincial regulations. The practical component will be tailored to the client’s needs.
